Applied Materials Inc. (AMAT), on Tuesday appointed Bob Halliday as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Mike Splinter, chairman and Chief Executive stated, "Bob offers both a leading track record of accomplishment as a chief financial officer as well as deep experience in our industry to help drive Applied's financial performance.".
Prior to his appointment, Halliday served as chief financial officer and executive vice President of Varian Semiconductor Equipment associates. The company in a statement added that Halliday was named a 'top CFO' by Institutional Investor magazine.
