Comtech Telecomm. Receives $5.0 Mln WAN Optimization Order For Military Network

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL) announced that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., has received a $5.0 million order from a government systems integrator for its turboIP-G2 Performance Enhancement Proxies.

Comtech said the United States Marine Corps will utilize the Performance Enhancement Proxies in their modular, tactical system to support reliable and high-bandwidth warfighter communications.

Commenting on the turboIP-G2 Performance Enhancement Proxy, the company stated that it was designed with the most effective WAN optimization features to address the unique challenges of satellite communications. The acceleration and caching functionality improve network responsiveness and optimize the user experience. The system's advanced compression techniques minimize the data that traverses satellite links.
