Guidewire Software, Inc. (GWRE) Tuesday reported a rise in profit in the second quarter to $5.5 million or $0.09 per share, from $3.7 million or $0.06 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, adjusted net income for the quarter was $12.9 million or $0.21 per share, compared to $7.8 million or $0.16 per share in the prior year quarter.
Meanwhile, total revenue for the second quarter rose to $72.19 million from $55.10 million a year ago.
License revenue for the second quarter rose $30.8 million from $25.7 million a year ago, while Maintenance revenue was $9.2 million, up from $6.8 million and services revenue climbed to $32.2 million from $22.6 million in the prior year quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.02 per share on revenue of $64.26 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
