Superior Energy Services Inc. (SPN) Tuesday announced fourth-quarter net income of $76.3 million, or $0.48 per share, up from $19.4 million, or $0.24 per share, for the same quarter of 2011.
Non-GAAP adjusted earnings for the quarter were $77.6 million, or $0.49 per share.
Meanwhile, revenue for the quarter surged to $1.178 billion from $562.40 million in the year ago quarter.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.48 per share on revenues of $1.15 billion for the fourth-quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Going forward, the company expects 2013 earnings per share to be in the range of $1.85 to $2.35. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of $2.17 per share for fiscal 2013.
