Shares of Mylan Inc. (MYL) rose more than 2% in after hours trading after the generic drugmaker reported forecast-beating fourth quarter profit and gave an upbeat outlook for the full year 2013. The company also said it has agreed to buy Agila Specialties Private Ltd. From India's Strides Arcolab Ltd. for $1.6 billion in cash.

Babcock & Wilcox Co. (BWC) shares surged more than 8% in extended hours trading after the provider of clean energy technology and services for the nuclear, fossil, and renewable power markets reported fourth quarter earnings and revenue above analysts' expectations and gave a strong outlook for the current fiscal year.

Shares of Groupon Inc. (GRPN) tumbled more than 26% in late trading after the daily deals provider reported a wider fourth quarter loss and forecast first quarter revenue below analysts' current consensus estimate.

J.C. Penney Co. Inc. (JCP) shares slumped more than 15% in after hours trading after the department store chain reported a sharply wider fourth quarter fourth quarter loss.

Shares of BroadSoft Inc. (BSFT) plunged more than 24% in extended hours trading after the multimedia software maker forecast revenue and earnings for first quarter and full year 2013 below analysts' current consensus estimates.

Vocera Communications, Inc. (VCRA) shares slipped more than 10% in late trading after the provider of mobile communication solutions to healthcare and non-healthcare markets gave down-beat forecasts for the first quarter.
