Results for the latest quarter included, among other items, business acquisition costs of about C$11 million, and share-based compensation expense of C$11.6 million.
Excluding items, operating earnings for the quarter totaled C$40.6 million or C$1.27 per share, compared with C$31 million or C$0.97 per share a year ago.
On average, 9 analyst polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of C$1.14 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
The Canada-based company reported a surge in quarterly revenues to C$372.6 million from C$178 million in the prior year. Analysts on consensus estimated revenues of C$335.81 million.
