Seacor Holdings Inc. (CKH) reported fourth quarter net loss attributable to company of $2.62 million or $0.13 per share, compared to a profit of $17.04 million or $0.80 per share last year. The company stated that the recent quarter includes a loss from continuing operations of $8.3 million, or $0.41 per diluted share.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.59 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Operating revenues for the quarter were $433.26 million, higher than the $344.64 million a year ago. Analysts on consensus estimated revenues of $466.25 million for the quarter.

During the quarter, the company purchased 1.05 million shares of its common stock at an average price of $86.68 per share and paid a $5.00 per share special cash dividend, returning $191.2 million in total to stockholders.
