Slovakia HICP Inflation Slows Sharply In January

Slovakia's EU measure of inflation slowed significantly in January, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Thursday.

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) rose 2.5 percent year-on-year, following a 3.4 percent increase in December. The latest figure is the lowest since December 2010.

Month-on-month, the HICP rose 0.7 percent in January.

Separately, the agency reported that overall factory-gate inflation for January was 2 percent, unchanged from December. Producer prices for the domestic market rose 3.1 percent annually, after a 3.9 percent increase in December.
