Amarin Slips To Loss In Q4

Amarin Corporation plc (AMRN) reported a fourth-quarter GAAP net loss of $10.6 million, or $0.07 per share, compared to net income of $18.3 million, or $0.12 per share in the year ago quarter.

This latest-quarter net loss included $4.7 million in non-cash share-based compensation expense, $2.8 million in non-cash warrant compensation income, and a $33.3 million gain on the change in the fair value of derivatives.

Non-GAAP adjusted net loss was $41.97 million or $0.28 per share, wider than $10.22 million or $0.08 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, ten analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.28 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company did not generate any revenue for both the quarters.
