Nissan North America Inc., a unit of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (NSANY.PK), reported February U.S. sales of 99,636 units versus 106.731 units a year earlier, down 6.6 percent.
Total car sales for the month declined 8.8 percent to 65,433 units, from 71,732 units in the same month last year, while total truck sales also dropped 2.3 percent to 34,203 units from 34,999 units in the prior year month.
Nissan Division sales in February totaled 90,489, down 7.2 percent from 97,492 units in the same month last year.
Sales of Infiniti vehicles were 9,147, a decrease of 1.0 percent over last February.
Al Castignetti, vice president, Nissan Division, said: "We expect 2013 to be strong year for Nissan, in spite of the increasingly competitive market. All-new versions of our iconic Altima, Sentra and Pathfinder are hitting their stride, and the LEAF, Versa Note and NV200 models will bring even more new buyers into Nissan showrooms in the coming months."
February had 24 selling days in 2013 and 25 selling days in 2012.
