Croatia's Industrial Output Rebounds In January

Industrial production in Croatia increased annually in January after falling in the previous months, data released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

Industrial production increased a working-day adjusted 3.4 percent year-on-year in January, reversing the 5.4 percent decrease seen in December. In November and October, production had dropped 4.3 percent and 5.9 percent respectively.

Production in the manufacturing sector rose 2 percent annually, while mining and quarrying production fell by 10 percent. There was an 11.6 percent rise in the production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply during the month.

Output of consumer durables and non-durables increased 2.8 percent and 6.9 percent respectively from a year earlier, while energy production climbed 4.5 percent. There was a 1.2 percent decrease in the production of intermediate goods and a 1 percent fall in capital goods output.

On a monthly basis, industrial production increased a seasonally adjusted 2.3 percent in January, following the previous month's 0.6 percent decrease, the agency said.
