Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CBST) Monday said it has appointed Michael Tomsicek as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Tomsicek, succeeds David McGirr who will now serve as a senior adviser to the CEO, before his retirement in 2014.
Tomsicek joined Cubist as VP, Corporate Finance and was later promoted to SVP and Deputy CFO. Prior to Cubist, Tomsicek worked with General Electric Healthcare, initially as Finance Manager of its global operations, and then as CFO of its diagnostic ultrasound business and global ultrasound product group.
In his new role Tomsicek will oversee Cubist's financial planning and analysis, technical accounting, controllership, treasury, tax, commercial financial services, strategic sourcing activities, investor relations, and facilities functions.
