Estonia Industrial Output Expands In January

Estonia's industrial production expanded in January on a surge in manufacturing of electronic products, Statistics Estonia reported Tuesday.

Industrial production grew 5.5 percent from the prior year. Within overall output, manufacturing output was up 4.2 percent and energy production surged 17.2 percent. On the other hand, mining output dropped 3.4 percent.

Manufacture of electrical equipment advanced 9.7 percent and computer, electronic and optical products increased 28.7 percent in January.

On a monthly basis, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production as well as the production in manufacturing showed marginal growth. Total output gained 0.3 percent and manufacturing grew 0.2 percent.
