AeroVironment Inc. (AVAV) reported third quarter EPS of $0.17 after the bell Tuesday, down from $0.26 in the prior year period. Revenues fell to $47.1 million, from $72.0 million a year ago. The consensus estimates were for EPS of $0.37 and revenues of $89.02 million. The company expects to report full year 2013 EPS of $0.30 to $0.50, with revenues of $230 million to $250 million. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $1.45 and revenues of $353.15 million.
AeroVironment gapped open sharply lower Wednesday, but recovered some ground during the first 45 minutes of trade. The stock finished with a loss of 2.12 at $19.57 on the highest volume of the year. AeroVironment closed testing the lows of the year, trading at a 3 1/2 month low.
