Air Canada (AC_A.TO) reported that its February system traffic decreased 0.7 percent on a system-wide capacity decrease of 4.4 percent. System load factor was 79.8 percent, compared to 76.8 percent in February 2012, an increase of 3.0 percentage points.

Traffic, measured in RPMs, was 3.943 billion compared to 3.971 billion last year. Capacity, measured in ASMs, was 4.944 billion compared to 5.170 billion last year. The company attributed the difference in capacity and traffic from the previous year almost entirely to the additional day of operations reported for the February 2012 leap year.

Air Canada reports traffic results on a system-wide basis, including regional airlines from which Air Canada purchases capacity.
