Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS) Monday said it received a notice from the Federal Trade Commission of early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act related to Scientific Games' proposed acquisition of WMS Industries Inc. (WMS).
The termination of HSR Act only clears one conditions among many. The deal still requires to satisfy other conditions, including the approval of WMS stockholders and receipt of required gaming approvals.
On January 31, Scientific Games agreed to acquire WMS for $26.00 per share in cash, or for an aggregate of about $1.5 billion.
