Amicus Therapeutics (FOLD), Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net loss to common shares of $10 million, wider than $8.7 million in the previous year. However, on a per share basis, quarterly loss narrowed to $0.20 from $0.25 last year, reflecting a higher share count.
On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.37 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company did not generate any revenue during the quarter, while in the prior-year period, it reported research and other revenues of $5.63 million.
Results for the quarter were impacted by operating expenses of $16 million, mostly on research and development. This compares with expenses of $18.7 million in the prior year.
