China's Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMI) Wednesday said its CEO TY Chiu has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of Global Semiconductor Alliance, or GSA, a semiconductor industry association.
GSA President Jodi Shelton stated, "When Dr. Chiu joined our board almost two years ago, China already represented one-third of the global semiconductor market. As China approaches the one-half mark, we are grateful to retain the expertise and support of Dr. Chiu and SMIC, at the heart of China's semiconductor ecosystem."
Tzu-Yin Chiu joined SMIC as CEO and executive director in 2011. He is also a director of most of SMIC's subsidiaries.
