Northern Tier Energy LP (NTI) Wednesday said fourth-quarter profit plunged to $84.5 million or $0.92 per share from $292.7 million or $1.38 per share in the same period last year. Adjusted earnings for the period was $99.1 million or $1.08 per unit. On average, eight analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected fourth-quarter earnings of $1.45 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues totaled $1.24 billion, up from $1.09 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.13 billion.
