Booker Group Plc. (BOK.L), a food wholesaler, Thursday said it welcomes today's announcement from the Competition Commission that it has provisionally decided to approve its acquisition of Makro Holding Limited.
The commission has reviewed the transaction and provisionally concluded that it does not expect it to result in a substantial lessening of competition at a national or local level.
The commission is expected to publish its final report by April 24, the statutory deadline for completion of its inquiry.
Booker said it would continue to work closely with the Commission throughout the remainder of the inquiry.
