Spain's retail sales dropped by seasonally adjusted 10.2 percent in January from the previous year, the statistical office INE reported Thursday. The annual decline follows a 11.4 percent decrease in December.
On an unadjusted basis, sales eased at a slower pace of 9 percent year-on-year in January, after falling 10.9 percent in the prior month.
Food sales were down 5 percent, while non-food product sales plunged 11.6 percent in January.
