Swisher Hygiene Inc. (SWSH, SWI.TO) reported that its second-quarter net loss attributable to the company widened to $18.91 million from $8.09 million in the prior year quarter.

Net loss from continuing operations for the quarter was $18.0 million, compared to net loss from continuing operations of $8.4 million last year. Loss per share from continuing operations widened to $0.10 from $0.05 in the prior year quarter.

Total revenue from continuing operations was $60.2 million, a 76% increase from $34.2 million in the year ago quarter. Hygiene revenue from company-owned operations, excluding acquisitions, increased 9% compared to the second-quarter ended June 30, 2011.
