Women's apparels retailer New York & Co.,Inc. (NWY) Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $10.5 million or $0.17 per share, compared to net loss of $10.9 million or $0.18 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Adjusted net income for the latest fourth quarter was $6.2 million or $0.10 per share. On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.09 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Net sales for the quarter were $291.76 million, up from $271.84 million in the year-ago period, while six analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $287.16 million for the quarter.
Comparable store sales for the third quarter increased 0.7%,versus a decrease of 5.2% in the prior year period.
