Telecommunications giant AT&T Inc. (T) on Monday said it has renewed its global networking agreement with European oil giant Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDS-A, RDSA.L, RDSB.L, RDS-B).

The initial contract was agreed five years ago, in which AT&T was established as Shell's global provider of secure, advanced communications and mobility solutions. The contract has been renewed for another five years.

AT&T noted that the agreement with Shell remains its largest retail communications services contract signed with a company headquartered outside the United States.

Using AT&T's Global Mobile Management service, the company is managing mobile voice and data for Shell users that are provided through other mobile operators around the world. It also provides Wi-Fi based solutions to help control costs with mobile devices such as tablets and laptops.

Mark Shine, AT&T Senior Vice President, said, "By providing global networking solutions accessible from just about every corner of the planet, AT&T is delivering what it does best, so that Shell can focus on its core business - providing energy products and solutions for consumers and businesses around the world."
