JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (JASO), a manufacturer of solar power products, posted a wider fourth-quarter net loss of RMB 637.9 million, or $102.4 million, compared with last year's loss of RMB 429.65 million.
Quarterly loss per share totaled RMB 3.30, or $0.53, as against a loss per share of RMB 2.45 in the prior-year quarter. Loss per ADS in the recent quarter widened to RMB 16.50, or $2.65, from a loss of RMB 12.25, or $1.97, in the fourth quarter of 2011. On average, 3 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss per share of $1.53 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Net revenues stood at RMB 1.7 billion, or $268.1 million, versus RMB 1.95 billion a year earlier. Analysts estimated revenues of $248.46 million for the quarter.
