South Korea Current Account On Tap For Thursday

South Korea will on Thursday release February figures for its current account balance, highlighting a busy day in Asia-Pacific economic activity. In January, the current account reflected a surplus of $2.25 billion.

Australia will see February figures for private sector credit and March numbers for the inflation forecast from TD Securities. Private sector credit is expected to rise 0.3 percent on month and 3.5 percent on year after adding 0.2 percent on month and 3.6 percent on year in January. The inflation forecast for February was flat on month and up 2.4 percent on year.

Japan will release retail sales data for February, with forecasts predicting an increase of 0.5 percent on month and a decline of 1.8 percent on year after dipping 0.2 percent on month and 1.1 percent on year in January. Sales from large retailers are expected to fall 1.5 percent on year after dropping 3.5 percent in the previous month.

China will announce February figures for industrial profits; in January, profits were up an annual 5.3 percent.

Singapore will provide producer price data for February; in January, PPI was up 2.1 percent on month and down 3.9 percent on year.

Finally, markets in the Philippines are closed on Thursday and Friday for Easter, and will re-open on Monday.
