Fertilizer firm the Mosaic Co. (MOS) posted higher third-quarter earnings attributable to the company of $344.6 million, or $0.81 per share, versus $273.3 million, or $0.64 per share in the prior-year quarter. The company said the latest quarter included a $44 million, or $0.07 per share, negative impact from notable items.
Quarterly operating earnings were $419 million, compared with $414 million a year before.
Mosaic's net sales in the recent quarter reached $2.24 billion, up from last year's $2.19 billion, driven by higher potash and phosphate volumes.
