Avery Dennison Corp. (AVY) announced the settlement of its patent and antitrust litigation with 3M company. Avery said the company will continue to sell its OmniCube products worldwide.
The litigation began when 3M alleged that Avery Dennison infringed its patents and sought a preliminary injunction to prevent Avery from selling OmniCube, a Type XI sheeting product used to increase nighttime visibility of road signs and other highway and transportation products. The court denied 3M's request, and after Avery Dennison brought claims of its own for patent infringement and antitrust violations, the companies agreed to dismiss all three pending cases.
