NTPC Signs Rs.1,870 Cr. Loan Agreements With 3 PSBs

State-owned NTPC Ltd. on Tuesday said that it had signed loan agreements worth Rs.1,870 crore with three public sector banks (PSBs) with a tenure of 15 years, to partially finance its capital expenditure plans, reports said.

The company has signed three loan agreements totaling Rs.1,870 crore with Punjab and Sindh Bank (Rs.570 crore), Andhra Bank (Rs.300 crore) and Canara Bank (Rs.1,000 crore) recently, the company said.

The loans have been offered at the respective base rates of the bank, which is the bare minimum rate at which a bank can lend, the company said.

At the BSE, NTPC shares are currently trading at Rs.143.75, up 0.21 percent from the previous close.
