South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co. (HYMLF.PK, HYMTF.PK) reported a decline in total sales for March 2013, by 2 percent to 68,306 units from 69,728 units last year.
John Krafcik, president and Chief Executive of Hyundai Motor America stated, "While our plants continue to stretch to hit our demand levels, we still have one of the tightest inventory levels in the industry. This month, you could see the impact of improved Elantra availability."
Meanwhile, Elantra sales for the latest month rose to 26,153 units from 19,681 units in the year-ago month.
