Oxford Industries Q4 Profit Down

Oxford Industries Inc. (OXM) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $5.3 million or $0.32 per share, down from $7.1 million or $0.43 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter improved to $0.65 per share from $0.61 per share last year. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.70 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter rose 18 percent to $236.2 million from $199.7 million last year. Analysts estimated sales of $228.64 million for the quarter.

Looking forward to the first quarter, the company expects earnings of $0.72 to $0.82 per share and sales of $230 million to $240 million. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $1.20 per share on revenues of $255 million for the quarter.

For the fiscal year 2013, the company expects earnings of $3.00 to $3.15 per share and sales of $930 million to $945 million. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $3.24 per share on revenues of $928.15 million for the year.
