Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. announced that it was one of the first generics company to have obtained the tentative approval from the US FDA to manufacture and market its anti-AIDS combination drug Efavirenz/Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate tablets in the strengths of 600mg/200mg/300mg.
Efavirenz/Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate tablets, 600mg/200mg/300mg, is the generic equivalent of Gilead Sciences Inc.'s Atripla tablets 600mg/300mg.200mg and falls under the Anti-Retroviral (ARV) segment. It is indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults.
The company said this ANDA was reviewed under the expedited provisions of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS relief (PEPFAR).
At the BSE, Aurobindo Pharma shares are currently trading at Rs.159.50, up 1.30 percent from the previous close.
