Mindspeed Technologies Inc. (MSPD) a provider of semi conductor solutions, Wednesday said it now expects the second quarter net product revenue to be approximately $35.1 to $35.5 million. The previous view was for net product revenue to be approximately flat to up or down 2 percent versus total net product revenue in the first quarter of $38.4 million.
The company attributed the revenue shortfall to slower-than-expected deployments of 3G small cell base stations. It expects wireless infrastructure revenue to be approximately $2.6 to $2.7 million in the second quarter while revenue from 4G/LTE small cell base stations is forecast to be about double in the second quarter versus the prior quarter.
Further, based on early indications, Mindspeed anticipates total net product revenue for the third quarter to be approximately flat versus the second quarter. The company further sees wireless infrastructure revenue to be approximately flat in the third quarter compared with the second quarter of fiscal 2013.
