Supervalu Inc. (SVU) an operator of retail and wholesale food stores, Wednesday said Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Sherry Smith will leave the company at the end of May. The company said it plans to name a replacement at a later date.
Smith has served as the company's CFO since her appointment in December 2010. She has spent 26 years with Supervalu and previously served as senior vice president, finance.
Additionally, Karla Robertson has been named executive vice president for legal, effective immediately. She replaces Todd Sheldon, executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, who is expected to stay through May to assist the company in the completion of its fiscal 2013 year-end filings.
