Gannett Healthcare Group or GHG, announced that Melyni Serpa has been appointed as chief executive officer or CEO, effective immediately.
The company said that Serpa replaces Steve Hauber, who had served as the company's CEO for 10 years and who has been named chief executive officer of Clipper Magazine, a leader in the local, regional and national direct mail advertising industry, and vice president of Gannett Digital Ventures.
Hauber's appointment also is effective immediately and in his new role, Hauber will continue to oversee the global functions of GHG, the company stated.
Commenting on Serpa, GHG said she served as publisher of its Nurse.com family of publications and websites since 2012, overseeing the company's magazines and other publications, websites, advertising, production, circulation, IT and nurse executive teams. She began her career in the publishing industry more than 25 years ago and joined GHG in 1996 as its director of circulation.
