SED Int'l Holdings To Restructure U.S. Operations

SED International Holdings Inc. (SED) said Thursday it plans to restructure its U.S. operationgs in order to strengthen its competitiveness over the long term.

Restructuring plans include reducing its U.S. headcount and selling, general and administrative costs by over 25%, and focus the company's line card consistent with strategic opportunities in both Commercial and Consumer businesses. It also plans to consolidate itss five U.S. distribution centers into three centers.

The company anticipates the restructuring plan to result in gross profit dollars remaining consistent with the historical run rates while selling, general and administrative expenses will decline by about 25%.

The plan will not impact the recently adopted strategic growth plan in Latin America and will not affect the profitability of that business unit, the company said.

SED International Holdings Inc. is a distributor of computer technology, consumer electronics, small appliances, housewares, and personal care products.
