NYSE Euronext, Inc. (NYX), the global operator of security exchanges, Friday reported Global derivatives average daily volume or ADV of 8.1 million contracts for the month of March, in line with same month last year. The company further said trading volumes in European and U.S. cash equities declined year-over-year.
European derivatives products ADV for the same month was 4.3 million contracts, up 8.9 percent year-over-year.
The U.S. equity options, NYSE Arca and NYSE Amex Options, ADV was 3.8 million contracts in March, down 8.6 percent when compared with the March 2012 levels.
The company further posted NYSE Liffe U.S. ADV of approximately 78,100 contracts, down from 104,900 contracts last year.
