Penford Corp. (PENX) reported second quarter net income of $1.2 million, or $0.10 per share, compared to a net loss of $0.3 million or $0.03 per share last year.
Consolidated sales increased 3.3% to $89.0 million from $86.2 million a year ago.
For the first half of fiscal 2013, net income was $2.9 million, or $0.23 per share, compared to net income of $0.3 million, or $0.02 per share, for the preceding year.
Consolidated sales rose to $183.9 million from $176.93 million in the prior year period.
