The FDA is warning consumers not to purchase or use "MAXILOSS Weight Advanced Blue," a product promoted and sold for weight loss, as it contains a potentially lethal ingredient - Sibutramine.
MAXILOSS Weight Advanced Blue is sold on various websites, including www.extremevitaminworld.com and www.dreamlifeweightloss.com.
A laboratory analysis by the FDA has confirmed that "MAXILOSS Weight Advanced Blue" contains Sibutramine, a pharma ingredient that was removed from the market in October 2010 for safety reasons.
Since Sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients, the FDA noted that the weight loss product may pose a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. This product may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking.
