Pre-market Movers For April 8 (AA, AAPL, LUFK, AMRN, BUD, BCRX, OMPI)

Gainers:

Alcoa Inc. (AA) is up 0.73 percent to $8.30 ahead of its first quarter earnings release due after the markets close.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is up 1 percent to $427.32.

Lufkin Industries Inc. (LUFK) is rising 37 percent to $87.80. General Electric Co. (GE) announced that it agreed to acquire the oil and gas equipment company for about $3.3 billion or $88.50 per share in cash.

Amarin Corporation plc (AMRN) is up 5 percent to $7.56. The company announced new clinical data showing significant reductions in Apolipoprotein C-III Levels in MARINE and ANCHOR studies of Vascepa.

Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) is up 2 percent to $99.35. The company announced that it reached an agreement in principle with the U.S. Department of Justice to resolve a litigation challenging AB InBev's proposed acquisition of the remaining stake in Grupo Modelo that it does not already own.

BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (BCRX) is rising 20 percent to $2.04.

Decliners:

Obagi Medical Products, Inc. (OMPI) is declining 6 percent to $23.90. Merz Pharma Group has withdrawn its non-binding proposal to acquire the company at $22 per share cash. This withdrawal follows the recent announcement that Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. (VRX, VRX.TO) raised its offer to acquire Obagi to $24.00 per share cash.
