State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. or BHEL said its s Tiruchirappalli unit was preparing to enter into non-power sector by manufacturing components for oil refineries and defense applications, reports said, quoting Executive Director-Tiruchirapalli Complex A.V. Krishnan.
He said the company was readying itself for diversification of product range serviceable to refineries and other defense segments.
The 50-year-old plant is engaged in the manufacture of high pressure boilers and other thermal power plant equipment.
