British retailer Marks & Spencer Group Plc (MKS.L) reported that its Group sales for 13 weeks to 30 March 2013 increased 3.1%. Total UK sales increased 2.6%, Like for like UK sales rose 0.6%, and International sales rose 7.0% for the 13 weeks to 30 March 2013.
n January, the company said it expected the pressure on consumers' disposable incomes to continue throughout 2013. As a result, the company said it was cautious about the outlook for the year ahead and this view remains unchanged.
The company noted that it continues to make good progress in transforming Marks & Spencer from a traditional UK retailer to an international multi-channel retailer.
The company added that it will report its full year results on 21 May 2013.
