Level 3 Communications Inc. (LVLT) announced that it has appointed Jeff Storey as its president and chief executive officer, effective immediately. Storey was also nominated for election to the Board of Directors at the company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders to be held on May 23, 2013.
The company also announced that James Crowe will not stand for reelection to the company's Board of Directors at the company's 2013 Annual Meeting.
Storey joined Level 3 in 2008 as the company's president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Level 3, Storey served as president of Leucadia Telecommunications Group. Before Leucadia, Storey served as president and chief executive officer of WilTel Communications. Prior to that, he was a senior executive at Cox Communications, where he was one of the founding members of Cox Business Services. Storey began his career in telecommunications with Southwestern Bell Telephone.
The company said that it will release its first quarter 2013 results on Thursday, April 25.
