Corrects third para to show fourth quarter revenue increased:
Pep Boys — Manny, Moe & Jack (PBY) reported fourth-quarter net loss of $14.5 million or $0.27 per share, wider than $4.4 million or $0.08 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
On average, four analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.05 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter increased 5.1% to $530.85 million from $505.32 million in the year ago quarter. Comparable sales decreased by 2.6% consisting of a 3.2% comparable service revenue increase and a 4.1% comparable merchandise sales decrease. Four analysts had consensus revenue estimate of $507.08 million for the quarter.
