German chemical giant BASF SE (BASFY.PK,BFA.L) announced that the Australian High Court upheld findings that SNF has infringed BASF's Rheomax ETD patents and that those patents are valid.
The company said that the Court's decision marked the end of proceedings in Australia, which commenced in 2008.
The Rheomax ETD Technology is part of BASF's innovative solutions for Tailings Management. ETD or Enhanced Tailings Disposal is a method of tailings management in which novel technology is used to change and control the structural and drainage properties of mineral processing residues.
Steffen Kudis, head of BASF's Global Water, Oilfield and Mining Solutions businesses, said, "BASF is committed to providing customers with innovative, effective technologies and solutions. To achieve this , BASF must be able to protect its investment in years of research and development and intellectual property rights."
