Mining giant BHP Billiton Ltd (BHP,BBL,BLT.L,BHP.AX) on Thursday announced a new senior management team under the leadership of the newly appointed chief executive officer Andrew Mackenzie, with effect from May 10.
Apart from Mackenzie, the Group Management Committee or GMC will comprise Peter Beaven, President, Copper; Dean Dalla Valle, President, Coal; Mike Henry, President, HSEC, Marketing and Technology; Graham Kerr, Chief Financial Officer; and Daniel Malchuk, President, Aluminium, Manganese and Nickel.
Jane McAloon, President, Governance and Group Company Secretary; Jimmy Wilson, President, Iron Ore and Karen Wood, President, People and Public Affairs will also be members of the GMC.
Tim Cutt, President, Petroleum and Potash, and Geoff Healy, Chief Legal Counsel, will also be part of the GMC with effect from July 2 and June 3, respectively.
Mackenzie said, "...The team will provide the Company with the right balance of skill and experience needed to lead BHP Billiton effectively in the current environment.''
