Home BancShares Inc.'s (HOMB) first-quarter 2013 net income grew to $17.5 million, or $0.62 per share, from $14.4 million, or $0.51 per share in the 2012 period.
As acquisitions are growth and capital management strategies, earnings before amortization of intangibles after-tax are useful in evaluating the company. Excluding intangible amortization, quarterly earnings per share were $0.64, an increase, compared with last year's $0.52.
Net interest income for the latest quarter went up 21.4% to $44.3 million, from $36.5 million during the first quarter of 2012.
