Darius Rucker is set to give the commencement address for the graduating class of the University of South Carolina in Columbia this summer.
"I've dreamed a lot of things, I never dreamt that [USC] would ever ask me to give the graduation speech," Darius told The Boot. "I'm just really blown away by that. I'm a Gamecock through and through. I can't wait."
Rucker's speech, which goes down May 11, will offer a simple message to graduates:
"I'm going to just tell them about giving back, that's going to be my main thing."
In addition to the speech, Rucker will be presented with an honorary doctorate in music by USC.
True Believers, the latest solo album from the former Hootie and the Blowfish fronter, hits May 21.
