Alcohol results in many different causes of death in teens, according to a new study from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. According to their report roughly 32 percent of teen deaths involving alcohol are traffic related while another 68 percent are caused by lethal accidents.

Chris Konschack, manager at MADD Virginia, spoke with Richmond's WTVR about the study explaining:

"Kids are going to attempt different things and try different things and experiment and parents need to have that conversation. Too often parents say 'Oh not my kid and not my problem' and they don't go ahead and have those conversations, or they start when there is already a problem. And what we are trying to do is encourage folks to have a conversation before there's a problem."
