Sucampo Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SCMP) announced Tuesday morning that it received FDA approval for AMITIZA, for the treatment of opioid-induced constipation in adult patients with chronic, non-cancer pain.
Sucampo Pharmaceuticals climbed for the bulk of Tuesday's session and closed up by 1.64 at $8.46 on the highest volume of the year. The stock broke out of a 3-week range and set over an 11-month high.
